About Richard Warren Middle School
Richard Warren Middle School (RWMS) first opened in the fall of 2000 and serves the district's seventh and eighth-grade students. The building is named after a long-time community resident and valued educator in the Leavenworth Public Schools. Each grade level team has nine general education teachers, as well as one to two special education teachers. In addition to core classes, students also have elective options including physical education, vocal music, art, band, technology, computers, and AVID.
Co-curricular clubs are also offered in a variety of areas after school and are open to all students. Seventh and eighth grade students may choose to participate in athletics, including football, volleyball, girls or boys basketball, wrestling, and track. The school is named after Richard Warren who had been the principal at Sumner School and a teacher and guidance counselor in the district for many years.
